Peel board presents a cheque for $249,373 to the United Way of Peel Region

The Peel board United Way Committee presented a cheque to the United Way of Peel Region for $249,373. The total included monies raised by staff and students during the 2013 annual United Way Campaign.

Peel board appoints alternate representative to the Special Education Advisory Committee

Trustees appointed Fauzia Reza as the alternative representative for Autism Ontario – Peel Chapter on the Special Education Advisory Committee.

Trustees receive report on five year graduation rates

The Peel board received a report stating that the five year graduation rate remains steady year over year for the 2012-13 school year with a rate of 89 per cent. The report also shows an increase of ten per cent in the graduation rate within the Peel board over the last eight years.


Trustees recognized the contributions and years of service of the following staff who are retiring:

Bob Bond, regional manager, facilities services, will retire Feb. 28 
James Duffield, finance manager, special projects, will retire Mar. 7
Elmer Flores, school attendant, retired Jan. 31
Raymond Kaake, vice principal, will retire Feb. 13
Jane Lifchis, teacher, retired Jan. 31
Ann McInall, teaching assistant, retired Dec. 31 
Cathy Morrison, principal, retired Jan. 31
Graham Samuels, teacher, will retire June 30
Fatima Snieder, teacher, will retire June 30
Lorraine Toma-Jones, teacher, will retire June 30
John Watson, principal, will retire Mar. 14
Kristina Westenberger, teacher, will retire June 30
