Student Information
Using the Blended e-Learning (BeL) environment in conjunction with classroom instruction offers you, the student, a wide range of learning opportunities. You may be asked to read, work on your own or as a member of a group, complete assignments, and electronically interact with your teacher. As well, you may be asked to add to discussions, complete research and report online. When using BeL, students and teachers blend the use of e-Learning resources with daily classroom instruction.
You may need to have access to a computer to complete assigned work. The following lists the minimum requirements:
Windows PC: Pentium 233 (Pentium III recommended) CPU, 256 Mg RAM, 16 bit sound card, 800 x 600 Display resolution on your monitor, 8X CD-ROM, Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP, 56 Kbps modem, printer, Internet Service Provider
Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 (not 7.0), Netscape 7.0 or higher, Mozilla 1.7 or Firefox 1.5 (not AOL).
Macintosh: OS10x operating system. The internal HTML Editor tool and the upload tool in our course management system is not supported by macIntosh computers running an operating system older than OS10x. All other requirements to match the equivalent Windows PC above.
Browser: Mozilla 1.7 or Firefox 1.5 (not AOL).
Our course management system does require cookies on the client browser. You must turn off any popup blockers since all courses have popup windows included. You can test out your computer hardware to see if your system meets the requirements.
