Parent Involvement Study
To develop a greater understanding of parents’ needs and attitudes regarding involvement in their children’s education, PIC commissioned a study. The results of the study help to guide the work of the committee.
The foundation was 18 focus groups held with parents, representing families with children at all grade levels, located in all areas of Peel, and from all socio-economic groups. To reflect Peel’s diversity, we conducted 12 focus groups in languages other than English. As the PIC also wanted the perspective of school leaders, the study included three focus groups with principals, and a focus group and survey for teachers.
