Dunrankin students inspire greatness with lemonade fundraisers

Dunrankin Public School students in grades 2 and 3 have raised $150 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and $300 for the Canadian Cancer Society by selling 120 glasses of lemonade and inspiring their peers to make a difference in their community.

Students were inspired to make a difference by Amanda’s Lemonade Stand, a fundraiser run by Amanda Belzowski, 17 and her brother Joshua Belzowski, 8, that has raised over $200,000 to fix kids’ hearts through research with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, locally with Sick Kids Hospital, and around the world with Save a Child’s Heart over the past 16 years.

Now, Amanda and Joshua, having heard of the students’ fundraising efforts, will visit Dunrankin on Nov. 20 at 9:00 am to talk to students in a school-wide assembly about their story and how they can make a difference.
