Walnut Grove Public School students care locally and globally

Although they are a brand new school, students at Walnut Grove are showing they care. Walnut Grove's student government ran both a Thanksgiving and Christmas food drive and will now be holding another food drive in June! On the global stage, the students decided to put funds raised towards the purchase of a goat for a family and two education kits for students from Me to We.

This year was also their first annual skip-a-thon for the Sick Kids Hospital. Students and staff also ran a sticker drive for the hospital and collected thousands of stickers. Recently, the Free the Children student committee sold 157 Rafiki Friendship Water and Education Chains made by Massai Mama in Kenya, raising $1570 for relief in Africa. One Water Chain providing the equivalent of water for a child for a year. These are just a few examples of the ways that students at Walnut Grove are making a difference and giving back.
