Great Lakes Public School celebrates World Read Aloud Day

Great Lakes staff and students celebrated the World Read Aloud Day on Mar. 5 with a number of fun activities. This year’s theme for World Read Aloud Day was 'Super Heroes' and staff and students were dressed in their favourite super hero character costumes. Our grade 1, 3, 5/6 and 7/8 classes had drama, dance, rap and video presentations based on famous picture books. All grade levels shared their favourite books chosen by their grade level classes. After the assembly, teachers as well as our special guests, superintendent Joy Uniac, Peel District School Board Regional Police Constables, Matt Milroy and Carla Neilly, and librarians from Brampton Library read their favourite books aloud to all the classes.
