Peel board students design, race solar vehicles
Port Credit Secondary School will host a Junior Solar Competition on May 24. At the event, 42 teams of middle school students will race solar vehicles they have designed, competing for the fastest time.
Students have worked in teams to design and construct their solar powered vehichles, and the event is the opportunity to put them to the test. This year, 210 students will participate in the event aimed at teaching students about solar energy, technology and engineering.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and a vehicle inspection. The races begin 9:30 a.m. Port Credit Secondary School is located at 70 Mineola Rd. East in Mississauaga.
