Congratulations to Meadowvale Village Public School on winning the Classroom Energy Diet Challenge, an annual competition for K-12 classrooms presented by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
Students in K-12 all over Canada were tasked to complete 16 energy-focused challenges to increase awareness about energy consumption. More than 1,400 Canadian classrooms participated and despite the challenges brought on by COVID-19, they tracked savings of more than 150,000 litres of water, reduced power consumption by 2,342 hours, and saved 17,170 plastic bottles from the landfill.
Meadowvale Public School's Grade 5 classroom, 'ChangeMakers5C' completed 15 energy challenges, winning an award of $2000 for the school. Way to go!
