Stronger Together: Celebrating First Nations, Métis and Inuit cultures, knowledge, traditions

This school year, the Peel District School Board hosted the 3rd annual Indigenous Student Gathering for students that identified as or that shared First Nations, Métis or Inuit heritage and or ancestry. More than 500 Indigenous and non-Indigenous students from grades 4 to 12 attended the gathering over two days.


The theme of the gathering was Stronger Together and each element reflected upon the ways in which inclusion and diversity can strengthen our communities. This inclusive celebration of Indigenous cultures and perspectives offered participants the opportunity to learn, engage and come together as a community to empower students through further developing an understanding of Indigenous heritage and current contributions.
