Earnscliffe choir invited to share the stage with award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter

On Sept. 27,  students from the Earnscliffe Sr. Public School choir joins award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, Rufus Wainwright on The Rose Brampton stage, for "Oh Solo Wainwright: An Evening with Rufus."

Together, students, Wainwright and his sister, Lucy Wainwright Roche performed Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen with Wainwright on the piano.

For some students, this is their second time performing professionally as part of their school choir. For others, it is their first time performing outside of their school walls. As nervous as some students were, they unanimously jumped on the opportunity to perform on-stage together as a choir.

"I'm so proud of each and every one of these students for embracing this opportunity and putting countless hours of hard work and practice with a positive attitude," says Rosemary Skea, teacher at Earnscliffe Sr. "I'm grateful they had this opportunity to share their love of music with Rufus, Lucy and the audience. This incredible experience will help them grow as musicians and memories they will keep with them forever."
