On June 14, Miss Universe Canada, Lauren Howe, visited T.L. Kennedy Secondary School to share her personal success story and words of inspiration with students who aspire to pursue a pathway in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). At the visit, students had the opportunity to listen to Howe as she shared her experience navigating through the world of STEM as a female.
Howe became Miss Universe Canada in 2017. Prior to representing Canada at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant, Howe graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Industrial Engineering. She now uses her voice to empower and promote young women in STEM.
T.L. Kennedy Secondary School promotes excellence in learning through communication and collaboration, and currently offers SHSM programs to students who want to pursue a career pathway in Business, and Information and Communications Technology.
