The Woodlands' student, Zain Lakhani, leads community robotics team to victory at VEX Robotics World Championship Tournament

Zain Lakhani, grade 10 student at The Woodlands School led his community ​robotics team, 5225 Ebots Pilons, to win the World Championship award in the Tournament and Skills category at the VEX Robotics Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. Zain and his team made history as the first Canadian team in the high school category to win in both these awards.

Each year, top robotics teams from across the globe gather to compete at the 2018 VEX Robotics World Championships. Teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to compete against one another in a "game-based engineering challenge." This competition tests students teamwork, leadership, communication skills and more. These tournaments are held all year round at the regional, state and national levels.
