McDonald, a visually impaired para athlete, hopes to inspire others to look beyond limitations and to achieve their hearts desires. He has been a part of Mayfield's Nordic ski team for the past three years. Practicing several times a week alongside his coach and fellow classmate, John Milkovich, as his guide, McDonald continues to push past his boundaries to beat his personal bests.

When McDonald is off the slopes, he's channeling his inner Jeff Healey as a trumpet player. McDonald will perform with his band, 20/20, at the Battle of the Bands on April 6.
