Allan A. Martin Public School raises over $500 for WWF endangered species

For the fourth consecutive year, students and staff at Allan. A Martin Public School hosted a fundraiser in support of the WWF Foundation for the festive season. Together, they raised $570 to support WWF's research and protection of endangered species as part of the initiative by its Eco club.

Students and staff held a variety of fundraising events, including potlucks and screened environment themed movies.

Last year, Allan A Martin received a $500 grant in recognition of its supreme efforts from the WWF as an official Ontario EcoSchool. The EcoSchools program was developed to address environmental issues in the school system. The program recognizes and celebrates schools for their environmental learning and action.

Since it began supporting the WWF Foundation, the school has sponsored a total of 10 endangered species, including a snowy owl, arctic snow hare, polar bear, elephant, tiger, lion and sloth.
