Central Peel, Glenforest advance to FIRST Robotics Provincial Championships

This past weekend saw Central Peel's AllSpark 9 (team 4939) and Glenforest's Gryphon Machine (team 6070) continue to deliver stellar performances at McMaster University. Central Peel won their third straight district event. Glenforest secondary school's rookie team competed in two district events and also picked up two Spirit awards alongside a Safety award. The burgeoning team has a membership of over 50 students from diverse backgrounds, grade levels and of both genders.

Both secondary schools have advanced to the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics provincial championships. The competition will be held April 13 through April 15 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.

Teams participating will have a chance to advance to the World Championship in St. Louis at the end of April.
