Students at Darcel Avenue Sr. Public School will champion a cause to stop child abuse and promote the rights of children by raising awareness through diverse activities during the month of April.
Notes Nicola, grade 8 teacher, "At our school we have been looking at different international and global issues that we can bring awareness to within the student body and in our community."
Students have explored different global issues, such as child abuse and childrens' rights. To involve the student community, they are creating Public Service Announcements for the school, making posters, planning an assembly and have invited Peel Children's Aid Society.
Additionally, students will create an information brochure to distribute at the school's parent night in May.
