Students from 13 Peel schools will debate a variety of educational topics
Earnscliffe Sr. Public School will host its second "iDebate Therefore iExist" competition for Peel District School Board students on Monday, Apr. 10. More than 100 students in grades 6 to 8 will participate in the debate which aims to provide students with a platform to express their ideas and opinions.
"The iDebate Therefore iExist competition is a forum where students will use critical-thinking, inquiry and communication skills to develop opinions about cultural, educational and societal issues," says Costel Gagu, teacher at Earnscliffe Sr. "Students will work collaboratively to present their arguments using an effective and informed approach".
Each debate will consist of two teams who will be designated the proposition and the opposition, respectively. Students will work in teams of four to present arguments on a variety of issues such as advertising, beauty, education and internet safety.

- Sir William Gage Middle School
- Tomken Road Middle .S
- William G. Davis Sr. P.S
The event will take place from 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Earnscliffe Sr. Public School located at 50 Earnscliffe Circle in Brampton.
