On April 29, 2016, Turner Fenton Secondary School is excited to host 250 Turner Fenton students at their third annual Mental Health and Wellness Symposium. This year's theme is True Colours.
Students will participate in a day-long event that will address signs and symptoms of common mental illnesses, like anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder and self-harm. They will hear from YouthSpeak, a group of youth, dedicated to sharing their personal experiences with mental illness. Students will also choose from a variety of wellness breakout workshops, including, Mindfulness, Yoga and Meditation, Slam Poetry Expression, Healthy Snacking, Active Living and the Power of Positive Thinking, Supporting Friends with Mental Illness, Pet Therapy, Stress Management and much more.
