Peel board offers Adult English as a Second Language non-credit programs for newcomers

The Peel District School Board will offer Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) non-credit programs for newcomers to Canada whose first language is not English. Winter courses will begin on Feb. 2 and will be offered at three locations in Brampton and Mississauga.

“Improving your English is an important step to success in a new country,” says Cindy Ryan, manager of strategy development for the Peel board. “We look forward to welcoming individuals who are interested in improving their English language skills for work, study and daily life.”

Adult ESL classes are offered year-round, from beginner to advanced levels, and integrate listening, speaking, reading and writing skill areas into each lesson. Classes will take place at the following locations:

Registration is ongoing and will continue after courses have started. Day and night classes are offered in 20-week sessions, while weekend classes are offered from September to June.
