Parents of Peel District School Board students are invited to attend multilingual sessions on secondary school programs and English as a Second Language (ESL) at the We Welcome the World Centres in Mississauga on Nov. 22 and in Brampton on Nov. 29.
“These sessions will help parents understand the supports the Peel board has in place for their children in ESL and the variety of options available for secondary school students,” says Louise Clayton, coordinator of the We Welcome the World Centres. “We value parents as partners in education and we encourage them to be actively involved in their child’s learning and success.”
The sessions, conducted by school settlement response workers, will be delivered in two parts in several languages including Arabic, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish, Tamil and Urdu. Parents have the opportunity to attend one or both sessions:
