After 61 years in the community, TL Kennedy Secondary School has a rich history and they plan to celebrate it at their open house on May 25. Staff and students have worked together to plan activities including a Cram the Cruiser charity food drive, a free barbecue and a fun fair.
“We are so appreciative to the community for all of their support over the past 61 years,” says Paul Freier, principal of TL Kennedy. “The open house and fair are great ways to say thank you and to show the community all the great minds they have helped inspire.”
Everyone in the community is invited to join current and former staff and students as they honour TL Kennedy’s successes over the years. Attendees can jog their memories with walks down memory lane – in this case, memory hallway – and see photos, art and memorabilia celebrating the school’s past.
After reminiscing, guests can:
• take part in the fun fair
• donate to the Cram the Cruiser food drive
• enjoy musical performances from staff and students
• visit Alumni Hall to find out what former students are doing now
• participate in Magic Forest kids’ activities
In addition to the food drive, there will be other community-sponsored activities that tie in with TL Kennedy’s commitment to working with community agencies. Open house attendees will have the opportunity to visit Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services’ booth and speak to representatives from an electronics recycling service aimed at educating the public about sustainability and the environment.
The open house starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. on May 25 at TL Kennedy, located at 3100 Hurontario Street in Mississauga. To learn more about TL Kennedy, visit: http://bit.ly/1mBj3MI.
