Community meeting hosted by Lisgar Middle School spotlights shortfall in special education funding--April 1

In the fall, Peel District School Board Chair Janet McDougald spoke to school council members about the inequity of school board special education funding in Ontario. Since then, the board’s #FixTheFormula campaign has spotlighted the shortfall due to a flawed provincial funding formula.

Tonight, the School Council of Lisgar Middle School, in partnership with Lisgar Residents’ Association, will host an interactive session for Peel board parents and interested community members at Lisgar Middle School. Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga West-Streetsville Bob Delaney will be on hand to speak and to respond to questions. Peel board trustees and Director of Education Tony Pontes will also attend.

The session begins at 7 p.m. at Lisgar Middle School, located at 6755 Lisgar Drive in Mississauga.
