Peel Regional Police promote Cyber Academy

The crime prevention experts at Peel Regional Police are proud to once again offer the highly successful one day Cyber Academy seminar, for interested residents of Peel.

The seminar will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2014, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and will teach parents, educators and other professionals how to avoid the risks of cyber-bullying, social media and online luring.  Space is limited to fifty seats and is on a first-come/first-served basis.  There is no cost for this event.

Lectures will include:

  • "...At the click of a mouse..." cyber-bullying using digital mediums. 
  • Social networking; is there an expectation of privacy on the net?
  • "Do You Know Where Your Children Are?" Can you trust the internet? How cyber-paedophiles target/identify/track young victims on-line.
  • ...and more. 

Due to some of the subject matter, this seminar is available only to those who are eighteen years of age or older.
