On Nov. 9, the Peel District School Board will hold its first Peel Board Advantage Education Fair to showcase its middle schools with regional programs and secondary schools in Brampton and Caledon. Students and their families are invited to drop by Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to learn about and experience the Peel board advantage.
“Everything we do at the Peel board is designed to help each child achieve to the best of his or her ability. Each of our 242 schools offer a variety of programs designed to unlock student passions and potential—there’s something for every type of learner,” says Tony Pontes, director of education for the Peel board. “The education fair is a great opportunity for parents and students to speak with teachers and students, and get a glimpse of the programs, resources and support offered at Peel schools. We know there’s no better place for children to learn, grow and succeed.”
The education fair will include:
- information booths for over 25 Brampton and Caledon secondary and middle schools, as well as Morning Star Middle School and Lincoln Alexander Secondary School
- Peel board staff who will be on hand to answer questions
- student exhibition sports games and pep rallies
- student musical performances
- free refreshments prepared by students in Peel board culinary programs
- decorations created by Peel board students
