Castlebrooke Secondary School celebrates official school opening

Students, staff and members of the community will celebrate the official opening of Castlebrooke Secondary School on May 28. The day-long event will include an assembly, guest speaker Sunjay Nath, a BBQ and a carnival during the school day.  Parents are invited to join the celebration at 6:30 p.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony, cake and a special presentation called Social Media 101.

"Staff and students are thrilled to gather for our grand opening activities,” says Cathy Semler, principal at Castlebrooke. “This is a community celebration and we look forward to showcasing our new school and commemorating such an exciting occasion.”

The event will also include student performances and a sealing of the date stone. City of Brampton’s Mayor Susan Fennell, Peel District School Board Associate Director of Instructional Support Services Scott Moreash, and Trustee Harinder Malhi will bring greetings at the event.

Castlebrooke opened its doors to grades 9 and 10 students in September 2012. In a completely wireless facility focused on 21st century teaching and learning, Castlebrooke offers a variety of pathway opportunities for students living in a digital world. The school is located at 10 Gardenbrooke Trail in Brampton.
