Peel families invited to join Forest of Reading virtually and read-along with Canadian authors

From June 2 to 5, the Peel District School Board will host its annual Forest of Reading Celebration online to celebrate literacy. The week-long celebrations will feature nine renowned Canadian authors reading their books during a live segment, and answering questions submitted by Peel students.

"We're looking forward to continuing the Forest of Reading Celebration online to virtually bring together enthusiastic students, families, educators and authors whose dedication and passion for reading is inspiring," says Melanie Mulcaster, instructional coordinator for libraries in the Peel District School Board. "The virtual celebrations will allow families an opportunity to get involved and take part in the event and see first-hand the energy and dedication that Peel students demonstrate towards reading."

From June 2 to 5, each reading showcase will be 30 minutes and will take place from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. on June 2 and from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. from June 3 to 5. The virtual event will be hosted by Daniel Lewis, Peel graduate, entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
