The Psychology Department at the Peel District School Board is hosting its 31st annual School Psychology Conference on May 8, 2019, beginning at 8 a.m. at The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. Peel families, staff and community members will hear from Dr. Janine Jones, associate professor and director of the School Psychology Program at the University of Washington, about some of the essential skills for providing culturally responsive mental health services and interventions to children and adolescents.
- Learn essential skills needed to provide culturally responsive mental health services to children and adolescents.
- Understand how climate, educational context, and school practices impact the development of culturally inclusive spaces for all students.
- Learn practical ways to create a learning environment that embraces the needs of culturally diverse students and make school-based interventions more effective.
