Join us for Stomping Out Stigma to learn about anti-mental health stigma on May 2, during Children's Mental Health Week

You're invited to attend Stomping Out Stigma, a presentation about anti-mental health stigma campaigns in schools, in support of Children’s Mental Health Week (May 2 to 6, 2016).

Stomping Out Stigma will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 2, 2016. Between 6 and 6:30 p.m. staff, parents and students can visit the Community Resource Fair in the atrium. This is an opportunity to visit displays from a number of community agencies to learn about available supports and services in Peel.

Between 6:45 and 8 p.m., participants will:
- attend a presentation by Bob Heeney, HEADSTRONG national coordinator for the Mental Health Commission of Canada
- hear from two Peel board students who will speak to the HEADSTRONG program and its model for anti-stigma work in schools
- learn from Josh, a Peel board student, and Stacy-Ann, an actor, producer and filmmaker, who will share their journeys with mental illness in a manner that focuses on hope and recovery

Stomping Out Stigma will be held at the HJA Brown Education Centre, located at 5650 Hurontario St. in Mississauga.
