Peel student filmmakers project their work on the big screen at the fifth annual Peel Student Film Festival

More than 700 Peel District School Board students in grades 9 to 12 will showcase their films at the fifth annual Peel Student Film Festival on April 26 at the Rose Theatre in Brampton.​

"The Peel Student Film Festival empowers young artists to express their creativity, entertain audiences, and share their visions for a more just and sustainable world," says Anthony Persaud, instructional coordinator of science and technological education at the Peel board." The festival is a celebration of youth culture, highlighted by the richness and diversity of a new generation of filmmakers."

A total of eight categories of film will be showcased, including animation, commercial, documentary, experimental, music video, news report, public service announcement, and shorts. Students will receive feedback from film industry judges who have donated their time to the festival.
