Some international excursions affected by Government of Canada travel advisories

Given recent events in Europe, and with heightened concerns over the safety of travellers to some countries, the Peel District School Board is monitoring international excursions. Staff is regularly reviewing the Government of Canada's travel advisorieswith respect to their advice on travel that may affect the safety and well-being of travellers.

As of Dec. 8, 2015, the Peel board has revised field trip itineraries that included travel to Paris and Brussels. Based on the government's travel advisories and our concern for student and staff safety, as a precaution, Peel board students will not be travelling to Paris and Brussels during the 2015-16 school year. Excursion itineraries that included travel to these destinations have been modified—students and staff have been redirected to other locations. Affected students and staff will be notified as decisions/changes are made.

No other restrictions are in place for international excursions at this time. The Peel board will continue to monitor travel advisories and make decisions based on this advice.
