Peel board celebrates opening of Child and Family Learning Centre at Munden Park Public School

The Peel District School Board will host an open house at Munden Park Public School to celebrate the opening of a Child and Family Learning Centre—previously located at Corsair Public School— on Oct. 20. Munden Park staff and parents will have the opportunity to tour the centre, view a slideshow and speak with the centre's lead parent worker, community outreach worker and the Early Years team.

"Peel's Child and Family Learning Centres play an important role in the social, emotional and physical growth of young children, and are a valuable resource for families in Peel," says Susan Stanford, family centres leader at the Peel board. "The addition of the Munden Park centre will provide a warm environment for parents and children to learn and help facilitate the successful transition to kindergarten."

The Child and Family Learning Centres provide an informal and welcoming learning environment for parents and caregivers with children from birth to age four. Each centre is led by a qualified early childhood educator and offers a variety of experiences and activities to support early social, literacy and numeracy development. The Child and Family Learning Centre at Munden Park will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. It is free to attend and no pre-registration is required.

The open house will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Munden Park is located at 515 Tedwyn Dr. in Mississauga.
