Students, staff and community members at Ross Drive and Walnut Grove public schools will celebrate their official school openings at evening celebrations on May 6 and 7, respectively. These events will feature a variety of student performances and presentations.
"Our staff and students have spent the year laying the foundations for what has already become an inspirational learning community," says Lisa Miller-Wood, principal of Ross Drive. "We are so proud of everything we have accomplished so far and look forward to all of the incredible memories that will be made in this school."
Ross Drive's celebrations begin at 6:30 p.m. on May 6, and will feature choir performances and a presentation by students.
"Our staff and students are excited to build this school community together as they continue on their paths as lifelong learners," says Pamela Lone, principal of Walnut Grove. "We have been working hard all year to prepare for this special event and are certain our parents and community partners will be impressed by our new school, and the talent of our students."
Walnut Grove's event on May 7 at 6:30 p.m. will feature student Bhangra and Bollywood performances as well as a presentation of Walnut Grove's history and highlights over the past two years through a series of slideshows and black light shows.
Ross Drive is located at 40 Ross Dr. in Brampton. Walnut Grove is located at 10 Pinestaff Rd. in Brampton.
