Agnes Taylor Public School invites Peel students and parents to Stand Up! Reach Out! Bounce Back!, an anxiety and mental health community resource fair, hosted at Central Peel Secondary School. The second annual anxiety and mental health community resource fair aims to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma around mental health issues.
“We’re committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our students, and to inspiring them to find strength through resiliency,” says David Yaciuk, principal at Agnes Taylor. “This event will be an opportunity for families to not only hear first-hand about struggles with mental health, but to learn about the different resources and strategies available to them through the Peel District School Board and a variety of community agencies.”
The event will include information booths from community agencies and free family activities, including face painting, “selfie" booths, arts performances, free Zumba classes and a silent auction. Speakers include Chief Naturopathic Medical Officer and professor at CCNM, Dr. Jonathan Prousky, and Child and Youth Worker professor and therapist Theresa Fraser. Canadian freestyle rapper and Guinness record holder D.O. will also share his story and perform.
This free event will take place on Mar. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. Central Peel is located at 32 Kennedy Rd. N. in Brampton.
