Will other summer programs be offered?
We have made the difficult decision to cancel the Focus On Youth program. Information about Camp I Can and Dual Credit programs will be communicated shortly. Please check for updates.
Summer School 2020
Summer School is a great option for students who wish to complete an additional credit or who may need to upgrade a mark during the summer. Courses are offered for students currently in grades 9 to 12, as well as for adult learners working towards their high school diploma.
Most In-Class course offerings will now be offered online for Summer 2020. Our Peel eLearning courses will run as scheduled and there are still additional opportunities for English Language Learners, but unfortunately our Co-operative Education program and our Study/Travel program with EduTravel are cancelled for this summer due to safety concerns around COVID-19.
Two-week sessions (i.e., 55 hours) are open to students who have completed the same course during the academic year, and are now open to students who either did not earn the credit, or who earned the credit but wish to upgrade their final passing mark. The school team who knows the student best may recommend whether the student would be able to complete the course in a 55-hour session, or if it would be more appropriate for the student to register for the full 110-hour course.
Dates for Summer School 2020
Classes will run from Thursday, July 2nd to Wednesday, July 29th, 2020, inclusive. The orientation will be made available to all students online prior to the start of the program. Full credits will be offered in 110 hours of instruction; half-credits and make-up courses will be offered in 55 hours of instruction. All sections will involve some synchronous learning, and online "office hours" will be shared with students at the start of the course.
Peel Summer Study/Travel: Cancelled for summer 2020.
Summer Co-op (PDSB students only): Cancelled for summer 2020.
Students are expected to be in full "attendance" in there Virtual Learning Environment for the entirety of their Summer School program. No accommdations will be made for vacation or other summer plans.
