Board approves to reinstate subsidies for community permits
Trustees approved a motion to use funds available to reinstate subsidies previously provided to community permits in the amount of $1.3 million.
Board appoints member to the Special Education Advisory Committee
Trustees appointed Carol Oitment as a Member and David Kenny, representing Tourette Canada, as an alternate member of the Peel District School Board's Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).
Board shares First Quarterly Financial Reports
The Board shared its First Quarterly Financial Reports as at Nov. 30, 2019. The statements report the Peel board's actual expenditures to Nov. 30, 2019, versus the original 2019-20 budget submissions to the Ministry of Education. Included in the reports are the Other School Board Grants report as at Nov. 30, 2019, which details the Ministry Grant allocations outside of the Grants for Student Needs (GSNs), as well as funding for federal and other third-party programs.
Board re-establishes elementary French Immersion Review Committee, approves notice of appointment of trustees to committee
The board approved to re-establish the Elementary French Immersion Review Committee to review the recommendations of the 2012 and 2017 elementary French Immersion reviews, including the enrolment caps. In
addition to two appointed Trustees, Brad MacDonald, chair of the board, David
Green, vice-chair of the board, will be on the committee. Board receives report regarding anti-racism policy
On May 28, 2019, trustees approved a motion from Trustee Kathy McDonald "Be it resolved that the Peel District School Board develop and implement an anti-racism policy." The full report is available on page 110 of the board agenda.
