Jill Promoli delegated the board regarding flu prevention.

Board approves renewal of Ontario Public School Boards ' Association membership for 2019-20

Trustees approved the renewal of the Peel board's membership to the Ontario Public School Boards' Association (OPSBA). OPSBA represents public district school boards and public school authorities across the province and advocates on behalf of the best interests and needs of the public school system in Ontario. OPSBA is seen as the credible voice of public education in Ontario and is routinely called on by the provincial government for input and advice on legislation and the impact of government policy directions.

Board approves resolution regarding signing officers

Trustees approved the following as officers of the board with authority to sign on behalf of the Peel board in accordance with board by-laws and the Statutes of Ontario:

  • ​Stan Cameron, Chair
  • Sue Lawton, Vice-Chair
  • Peter Joshua, Director of Education
  • Jaspal Gill, Associate Director – Operational Support Services and Treasurer of the board
  • Poleen Grewal, Associate Director – Instructional & Equity Support Services
  • Mark Haarmann, Associate Director – School Support Services

Board approves Policy 56 – Occupational Health and Safety

​Trustees approved Policy 56 – Occupational Health and Safety, which the board is required to review and approve annually. There have been no changes since it was last reviewed.

Board approves revised board meeting schedule for 2019-2020 school year

Trustees approved the revised board meeting schedule for 2019-2020 school year, which includes a change in date for the board's budget meeting that will take place on June 17, 2020.

Board approves appointment of trustee representatives to community flu prevention committee and development of communication plan

Trustees approved a motion to appoint trustees Nokha Dakroub and Stan Cameron (alternate) to participate in a community flu prevention committee that includes representatives from the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, Trillium Health and Peel Health. As part of this work, a flu prevention communication plan will be developed and implemented this school year.
