The Mississauga Traffic Safety Council and Peel Public Health presented an overview of the Walk to School Programs.
Barbara Cogan, JEMMS (Peel’s Junior Elementary Music Makers) delegated the board regarding classroom closures impact on music programs.
Peel schools awarded Parent Reaching Out Grants
Trustees congratulated the 134 Peel schools that have been awarded a total of $145,518 in Parents Reaching Out Grants for the 2016-17 school year. The Ministry of Education program supports projects that will help increase parent involvement in support of student achievement and well-being.
Board approves tender for construction of Huttonville Public School
Trustees approved that the tender, in the amount of $7,539,360 including HST, for the construction of Huttonville Public School, be awarded to Tambro Construction Limited.
Trustees recognized the contributions and years of service of the following staff who have/are retiring:
Virginia Ancona, custodian, retired Aug. 22
Heather Holdaway, office manager, will retire Sept. 30
Jane Horton, teacher, retired Aug. 31
