Psychological science has much to contribute to enhancing education. Teaching and learning are intricately linked to child and adolescent development, cognition, motivation, social interaction, and communication. Psychological science provides insight regarding effective instruction, classroom environments that promote learning, selection and use of appropriate assessment tools, and interpretation of data to inform practice. In this full day presentation, our speakers will highlight and describe the important key principles from psychology— the “Top 20”— that are most impactful within the context of pre-K to 12 teaching and learning, as well as the relevance and implications of each as applied to classroom practice. Supportive evidence will be provided and discussed.
