Ray Lawson Public School a kindergarten to grade 5 school, opened its doors on July 30, 2012 as Peel District School Board's second balanced calendar school. Families in the Hickory Wood community have a choice of a traditional or balanced calendar. Our students attend school year round. Vacations are spread throughout the year in order to maximize learning and success for all.
We are proudly named after the Honourable Mr. Ray Lawson, the 17th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and the founder of the charitable Lawson Foundation, serving important causes across Ontario. We are Home to the Mighty Ray Lawson Lions! The lion is a significant symbol connecting all cultures with the values of strength, courage, loyalty, pride and family.
At Ray Lawson, we are taking a positive and hopeful giant L.E.A.P. into the 21st century with a school wide and community wide focus on inspiring learning, leadership, engagement, excellence, caring and giving citizens. Our pledge is to "lock on" to each other and help each other be successful.
