Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School drum line starts annual We Rise Together conference off with a bang
The drum line from Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School lit up the stage at this year's annual "We Rise Together: Black Student Leadership" conference held at York University. The drum line energized the audience by welcoming students as they entered the hall and started off the festivities with a bang. The beating of the drums appropriately conveyed the rich symbolism of letting voices be heard about issues that matter. Those in attendance described their performances as talented, lively and inspiring as they raised the bar at this year's performance segment, complete with glow-in-the-dark drum sticks and beats that made the audience dance out of their seats.
The Lincoln drum line is an exciting extra-curricular club funded by the Urban Arts program at Lincoln M. Alexander. Students rehearse once a week and perform all over the community including Brampton Beast's CAA arena, Verdi Banquet Hall and schools all across Peel.
