This Wednesday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m. EDT, six elementary classes from British Columbia to Newfoundland will create a bit of history. The students will participate in a live Google Hangout and introduce the land and people of their local communities to a national audience of K-8 classes watching from coast to coast.
This inaugural webcast will demonstrate how students from Kindergarten to grade 8 can personally contribute to Canada's future in a truly meaningful way. Using the power of technology, they will meet and make friends across geographic, language and cultural differences.
Participants and audience will also get to participate in a fast and furious game of Canadian Trivia, while finding out how they can help to create a vision of the future for Canada in a new Canada150 project in the fall!
Canadian education staff and K-8 classes can register to watch or join the conversation at bit.ly/kidsmeetcanada.
