The Peel District School Board Intermediate Planning Officer will report to the Manager of Planning.
Responsibilities will include: the collection, production, maintenance and analysis of planning and development related data and information to assist in student enrolment projections which directly impact the annual budget and teaching staff requirements, as well as the Capital Expenditure Forecast. Use of the department's Geographic Information System (GIS) and student projection and development tracking applications are integral to the role. Other responsibilities include financial analysis of alternative Capital Strategies, mapping requirements for Board reports, preparation of the Annual Planning Document, direction of site acquisitions and sale, review of school attendance boundaries and other related duties as may be required.
• Post secondary education in Urban Planning, Geography or Urban Studies
• Minimum 5 years experience in Municipal Planning
• Experience using and maintaining current GIS software applications and spatial data
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are necessary to deal effectively with staff, Board employees and general public
• Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment
• Working knowledge and understanding of computer hardware and software packages
(i.e. Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Oracle, SIS etc.)
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are highly important in the delivery of job duties
SALARY: C5-1 - (Min. $75,217 - Max. $89,475) per annum (Under Review)
