Peel board strengthens commitment to workplace equity after 11,000 staff participate in first workforce census
The Peel District School Board will take action on 15 workplace equity recommendations based on data collected from 11,000 staff through the first Count Me In Peel! workforce census. The census took place from Nov. 14 to 28, 2016 and included 22 questions related to organizational and workforce demographics.
"Our staff have provided us with valuable baseline data to help us know who we are as a workforce community, identify strengths and barriers to equity and inclusion, and develop and implement plans to support our commitment to workplace equity," says Farrell Hall, manager of workplace equity. "Although we began our workplace equity work in January 2013 through the Journey Ahead Action Plan, this additional action further supports our commitment and our board's goal to achieve inclusion for all through continuous progress on equity."
A full list of key themes and action items can be found in the workforce census recommendations document. Download a copy of the full research report or infographic which provides an overview of the survey results.
The workforce census was a recommendation from the Journey Ahead Action Plan to strengthen the board's hiring and promotion processes and ensure equity in all aspects of our work.
